Parent Carer Forum

Welcome to Worcestershire’s Parent Carer Forum

Families in Partnership Worcestershire

How do we help to make services meet children and young people’s needs?

Our Forum uses parental voice to influence change through events, discussion groups and working groups. We gather the views of local families and work with the council, educational settings, health providers and other agencies to highlight where local services are working well, or challenge when changes or improvements need to be made.

WORKING PARTY - to rewrite our constitution

If you’re a details person or have an interest in governance, we’d love for you to be involved. If you are a parent carer with lived experience living in Worcestershire and are passionate about securing the best provision for SEND children, then this working party also needs you! CONTACT:

Your views and experiences of Groups, Activities and Short Breaks needed

Worcestershire’s parent carer forum, Families in Partnership (FiP), want to hear from families with children/young people with SEND, about their experiences booking and using Groups, Activities and Short Breaks Provision across Worcestershire.

They are collecting the views and experiences of families through a short, anonymous online survey, the results of which they will feedback to Worcestershire Children First to help inform their development of a booking system for short breaks and activities.

Amongst other things, FiP want to know what’s working well and not so well, what features families would like in the new booking system and what are the barriers to accessing activities.

They want to hear from as many families as possible and you can take part here:

Families in Partnership December 2023

Due to some changes in personnel, we are taking the opportunity to re-evaluate the current structure, constitution, and forum model and build on the positive work we have achieved this year.

The forum acknowledges the commitment and focused work of some key steering group members who now need to take a step away to focus on the needs of their families alongside their professional commitments. Thank you for your dedication.
